SCEC ENDORSEMENT

The Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) is an interdepartmental committee responsible for the evaluation and endorsement of security products and equipment for use by Australian Commonwealth departments and agencies.

The Security Equipment Catalogue (SEC) lists protective security equipment that has been tested and endorsed as meeting relevant SCEC standards. It is designed to be a reference of suitable products for security managers to choose from to best meet their security requirements.

SCEC endorsed products fall under the following endorsed security applications with Secure Area (SA) having the most stringent requirements and Protection of Valuable Items having the least stringent requirements.

1  SECURE AREA                                                                        MOST STRINGENT
2  PARTIALLY SECURE AREA
3  INTRUDER RESISTANT AREA
4  PROTECTION OF CLASSIFIED MATERIAL
5  DESTRUCTION OF CLASSIFIED MATERIAL
6  SAFE HAND CARRIAGE
7  PROTECTION OF VALUABLE ITEMS                                  LEAST STRINGENT

The TYLINK 2000 and TYLINK 3000 have both been endorsed by SCEC for Secure Area (SA) applications, with the condition that the locking unit be fitted with a SCEC endorsed cylinder, rated for the area for which it is installed.
