TYLINK

TYLINK is a new concept in high security link-locking methods and is designed to replace conventional padlock and chain-link arrangements. It is also designed to provide far greater physical security than the traditional systems and represents a quantum leap forward in both quality and strength.

Conventional hardened alloy steel chain up to Ø13mm (ؽ”) can still be cut with 1050mm (42”) bolt cutters, as can 11mm triple heat treated Boron Manganese Hex-Chain steel links. The TYLINK has proved resistant to these bolt cutters.

Also, this steel chain is often coupled together with a number of padlocks to create multiple entry points. This is low security at the best, as this locking arrangement could be broken into at a number of points with hand tools. Also the site manager would have little or no idea as to who holds the keys to the padlocks, or how many keys there are in circulation. Good security is not only the level of resistance to physical attack but good key control as well.

The TYLINK 2000 & 3000 solve these problems, as they are both ‘purpose built’ to increase the security of gates. A padlock cannot be added to the linkage to put in an additional lock point, so the site manager can always have key control. This is more so when the lock cylinder is upgraded to a restricted key system or to a higher security keying system as authority is needed when an additional key is required.

TYLINK uses a revolutionary  in-line link design that incorporates Outer, Inner and End Links. The Outer and End Links are Ø25mm (Ø1”) and the Inner Links are Ø19mm (Ø3/4”). All are turned out of solid manganese steel bar and case hardened to provide an armoured casing to cover and protect a flexible, aircraft grade, steel cable. The Inner and Outer Links are beaded over this steel cable, which is then sealed into the End Links to provide maximum strength as well as a degree of flexibility and articulation. All the Links are chrome plated for good corrosion resistance.

TYLINK is designed to provide a high degree of resistance to prying, hacksawing, freezing and bolt cutters and is available in a number of lengths ranging from 45cm (1.5ft) to 360cm (12ft) and with two lock models. All TYLINK products have been tested to AS 4145.2 and AS 4145.4 Australian Standards for Physical Security and Durabilty ratings (where applicable), and to AS 2331.3.1 for a corrosion resistance rating of C4 (high).

TYLINK 2000

The TYLINK 2000 is designed to be mounted onto a gate, a solid wall or frame, or to the ground. The lock body is cast in 316 grade stainless steel and offers good corrosion resistance. The lock body is mounted with two Ø6mm screws. These mounting screws are not accessible when the system is locked, but one of them can be accessed when the top link is removed, after unlocking. The bottom link can also be removed, once the system is unlocked, to access the other mounting screw. The TYLINK 2000 Installation Instructions can be found on the Online Store page.

The TYLINK 3000 is a portable model that allows secure locking of gates and hard-to-lock items. The lock body is also cast in 316 grade stainless steel and offers good corrosion resistance. It is ideal for securing items such as motorcycles, vehicles, jet-skis, trailers, caravans and portable machinery to fixed objects such as posts or street furniture or to a dedicated anchor such as the TYLINK 360 ground mounted anchor. The TYLINK 3000 Installation Instructions can be found on the Online Store page.

TYLINK 360

The TYLINK 360 security anchor is available as an auxiliary item. It is cast in 316 grade stainless steel and features a hardened steel insert that helps to resist cutting with a hacksaw. It is designed to provide a secure point so the TYLINK can be run through it to provide further security. It is mounted to a floor or wall with two Ø12mm masonry bolts that are not accessible when the TYLINK is passed through it. The TYLINK 360 Installation Instructions can be found on the Online Store page.

With both models the locking mechanism has a ‘deadlocked’ design as opposed to a 'snap-lock' design. This protects the lock from being rapped, shimmed or prised open. It also assures the key holder that the system will not be locked without their authority.

Both the TYLINK 2000 & 3000 models are supplied with a standard (C4) 6-pin ‘Key-in-Knob’ style cylinder or a higher security Disc Key (DK) style cylinder. The Disc Key cylinder features a hardened steel anti-drill plate, a much higher resistance to picking and in excess of 10 million combinations. Both of these cylinders are able to be upgraded with most high security cylinder systems.
